Cody J. Blair, age 17, of Farina, Illinois passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Dan Laack will be officiating. Burial will be at Mason Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at Oil Belt Christian Camp in Flora. Cody was born on April 1, 2005 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Anthony “Tony” and Michele (York) Ruesken and biological father, Corey Blair. He was a member and involved with livestock judging with the North Clay FFA and also a member of the Clay County 4H club. Cody loved spending time with his grandpa and cousins in the woods. He was very busy, enjoying his time outdoors, riding ATVs, hunting, fishing, fixing things, and camping. Cody enjoyed showing cattle and rabbits. He had his own working herd of cattle. Cody participated in Boy Scouts when he was younger as well as Junior High basketball. From a young age, Cody enjoyed helping friends and family farm. He was employed at Menards and also worked construction during the summer months.
He is survived by his parents, Tony and Michele Ruesken of Farina; brother, Lance Ruesken of Farina; sister, Leigha Ruesken of Farina; grandparents, Rick and JoAnn York of Edgewood, Paul and Linda Ruesken of Effingham, Donnie and Tonya Blair of Jewett; great-grandpa, Eddie York of Edgewood; great-grandma, Shirley Ruffner of Mason; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandma, Jenny York; great-grandpa, Paul Ruffner; great-grandparents, Harold and Elizabeth “Betty” Ruesken and Robert and Catherine Flood.
