Genevieve “Marlene” Lawson, 72, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 4:22 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL.

Marlene was born on September 24, 1948, in Fancher, the daughter of Paul Henry and Zolla Mae (Polley) Ruff. She is survived by her two children: Robert Lawson of Decatur and Tammy (David) True of Boody; three grandchildren: David Lee, Caleb and Brock True; brothers: Gerald (Peggy) Ruff of Forsyth, Roger (Joyce) Ruff of Decatur and Gary (Dorothy) Ruff of Decatur and too many special nieces, nephews and friends to name.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Robert Ruff; sister, Pauline Shouse and sister-in-law, Betty Bowman.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
