Ralston Xon Hanna, 80, of St. Elmo, passed away at 12:13 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26th, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Funeral service is 10 AM Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Kinmundy with military rites by St. Elmo American Legion Post #420 and Altamont VFW Post #7676. Visitation is from 4-8 PM Friday at the church with Masonic rites at 7 PM and 1 hour at church prior to funeral service. Memorials are requested to the St. Elmo veteran’s war memorial.

Xon was born on March 15, 1933 in Kinmundy the son of Ralston “Ross” D. and Pearl M. (Jackson) Hanna. He married Glenna Kay Dugan on December 28, 1958 at Centralia and she survives.

He owned and worked the Hanna Farm and Auto Supply Store, St. Elmo for 33 years. He was a member of the St. Elmo United Methodist Church, St. Elmo American Legion Post #420 for 50 years, lifetime member of the Altamont VFW Post #7676, St. Elmo Masonic Lodge #769, Vandalia Radio Club, Wabash Telegraph Club out of Terra Haute, IN, volunteer at Monticello Railroad Museum, past organizer and member of SEBA, CDAP Loan Committee, HAMM radio operator, and enjoyed motorcycle riding. Xon was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS Rochester CA124 in the Pacific from 1953-1957.

In addition to his wife; Kay of St. Elmo, he is survived by his daughter; Stacy (husband, Mark) Elliott of St. Elmo, grandchildren; Emily Hanna, Caleb (wife, Tiffany) Kuebler, and Hannah Elliott all of St. Elmo, great granddaughter; Adalynn Grace Elliott of St. Elmo, sisters in law; Daisy Hanna of Panama City Beach, FL, Sue Dugan of Centralia, and Betty (husband, Cecil) Roper of Centralia, brother in law; George (wife, Leah) Dugan of Golconda, nephew; Randy Hanna of HI, and niece; Nancy Byker of Breckenridge, CO.

Proceeding him in death were his parents; son Brad Xon Hanna, brother; Duane Hanna, and brother in law; Bob Dugan.
