Mildred D. Braun, 97, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Effingham.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Mildred was born on March 15, 1923, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Clem and Clara (Fuesting) Goldstein. She married Clarence F. “Bud” Braun on March 6, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2002. Mildred work at Samuel Music Company in accounting for many years until retirement. She was an excellent seamstress and artist painter. Mildred enjoyed doing genealogy and bowling. She was a sports enthusiast, watching every game of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she could. She was proud of them all. Mildred was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, the Catholic Daugthers of the Americas, and the Altar Sodality.

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Pat Shadwell of Decatur and Karen (Rick) Henkelman of Effingham; daughter-in-law, Carol Braun of Fishers, IN; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-greatgrandchildren; brother, Don (Ann) Goldstein of Effingham; and sister, Kathleen (Pat) Green of Effingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence “Bud”; son, Frank Braun; son-in-law, Ken Shadwell; brothers, Louis (Florence) Goldstein and Paul (Shirley) Goldstein; and sister, Marie (Harold) Dasenbrock.
