William "Art" Devore (82) of Beecher City

William “Art” Devore, 82, of Beecher City, Illinois passed away at 9:26 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2020 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City with Pastor Sid Hutchison officiating. Burial will take place in Beecher City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Memorials may be made in Art’s name to the Shelbyville Community Dialysis and mailed to Lockart-Green Funeral Home, %Art Devore, 302 W. Art was born October 26, 1937, in Delavan, Illinois, the son of Earl and Nellie (Beasly) Devore. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. William and Linda Fulk were married August 5, 1977 in Effingham. He worked for and retired from Landmark Construction in Altamont. Art was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 120 of Effingham. He enjoyed collecting pencils, camping, antique tractors and auctions.  

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Linda Devore of Beecher City; sons:  Tracy (Carla Gibson) Devore of Shumway and James (Tammy) Devore of Beecher City; daughter-in-law, Colette Devore of Beecher City; stepdaughter, Theresa (Brett) Campbell of Charleston, SC; stepson,  Jerry (Debra Kruger) McWhorter of Altamont; four grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and brother, Roy (Sue) Devore of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Rusty Devore and Tony Devore.
