Funeral services celebrating Margaret’s life will be held at 2 pm Saturday, October 24 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton with Pastor April Dailey officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 pm until time of service Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery, Willow Hill. Memorial gifts in honor of Margaret may be made to either the Trinity Lutheran Church, Olney, Illinois or to the Shiloh Christian Church, Willow Hill. Margaret was born December 7, 1927 in Jasper County, the daughter of Earl Otis and Ida Grace (Sinclair) Fear. On April 18, 1947, she married Don Gordon Strole. They shared 71 years of marriage before his passing February 19, 2019. Margaret spent her life as a homemaker and caring for her family. As faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney, Margaret enjoyed attending church and volunteering when she was able. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, making crafts, and machine quilting. Having a love for music, Margaret enjoyed singing and could play the guitar, harp and mandolin. She shared her love by teaching her younger brother to play as well.
Margaret will be loved and remembered by her son Michael Lee Strole; grandchildren Michael Lee Jr, Michelle Rene, Melissa Ann; great-grandchildren Paige, Hailey, Adrian and Xavier and sister-in-law Louella Fear of Edwardsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband Don and siblings Loyal Otis Fear, Lowell Jefferson Fear, Lorene Maxey and LaVange Cox preceded her in death.
