Jerome "Jerry" Webb (79) of Effingham

Jerome “Jerry” Webb, 79, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL surrounded by his family.

It was Jerry’s wish to be cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here. 

Jerry was born on September 24, 1941, in Champaign, IL to Charles and Alvina (Tedrick) Webb. He graduated from Dieterich High School in 1959. In 1961, Jerry married Sandra Meyers in Effingham, IL. Jerry enjoyed working in his woodshop, fishing, and painting. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry always put his family first and loved taking his greatgrandchildren on side by side rides and teaching them new things from fishing to the love of the outdoors. He could always be found underneath his shade tree and never knew a stranger that went by.

He is survived by his best friend and wife, Sandra of Effingham; sons, Todd (Mary) Webb and Eric (Sandy) Webb both of Effingham; daughter, Nicole (Brian) Wente of Gurnee IL; brother, Steve (Sharon) Webb of Effingham; grandchildren, Rachel (Joel) Brown and Jessica Webb (fiancé, Josh) both of Effingham, Olivia Webb of Idaho and Clare Webb of Utah, Conner and Hayden Wente both of Gurnee, greatgrandchildren, MacKenzie, Morgan, Emily and Maggie of Effingham with one baby girl on the way. He is also survived by his stepmother, Frankie Webb of Effingham; and step-brothers, Rick Welch and Gail Welch both of Watson and Brian Welch of St. Louis, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gary and Lynn.
