Lloyd Brown Jr., 87, of Effingham, IL, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Masonic Rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by funeral services on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham with military rites. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home.

Lloyd was born on September 6, 1933 in Vienna, IL, the son of Lloyd J. Brown Sr. and Cynthia (Choate) Brown.

Lloyd was a heavy equipment operator and mowed several yards for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandbaby. He was a Master Mason having served over 40 years with the Greenup Masonic Lodge #125. Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict.

Lloyd is survived by his son, Shane Brown (Amy) of Casey, IL; granddaughters, Heidi Dunlap of Dayton, OH and Taylor Brown of Casey, IL; grandsons, Tristan Brown of Casey, IL and Dylan Veach of Casey, IL; great-granddaughters, Olivia and Vivian Dunlap of Dayton, OH; great-grandson, Theodore Brown of Casey, IL; sisters, Lucille Taylor of Palmyra, IL and Iva Mae Devault of New Burnside, IL,; brothers, James Brown (Nancy) of Harlan, KY and Paul Brown (Shirley) of Bradley, IL; niece, Tresa Hundley (Eric) of Noble, IL; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Joyce Brown; sons, Mark Brown and Alan Brown; brothers, Donald Brown, William Brown, Kenneth Brown, Chester Brown, and Billy Joe Brown; and sister, Margaret Wicks.
