Sheila Kaye Nelson, 52, of Watson, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her home.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. A private family burial will be held in Watson Cemetery, Watson, IL.

Sheila was born on April 20, 1968, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Harold and Adele (Bell) Nelson. She married Chris Tappan and to this union were born two children, Megan and Connor.

Sheila was an animal lover and enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and bird watching. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and would do anything for them. Sheila also loved spending time with her fiancé Mike who she loved very deeply. Sheila carried herself with such grace and showed compassion to anyone she met and to those she already knew. She was such a light in so many people’s lives and even though she is gone her light continues to shine through all of us.

Sheila is survived by her fiancé, Mike Durbin of Watson; daughter, Megan (Kevin) Faber of Watson; son, Connor Tappan of Watson; grandchildren, Kori Faber, Dakota Faber, Addison Faber, Camden Tappan, and Liam Tappan; siblings, Charles (Patty) Nelson, Galen (Donna) Nelson, Sylva Nelson, and Sandra (Bill) Shelton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
