Scot Lionel Harmon, 49, of rural Toledo, IL passed away at 8:54 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12th, 2013 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 18th at the Barkley Funeral Chapel at 300 North Kentucky St. in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery.

Scot was born in Champaign, IL on January 20, 1964 the son of Ivan & Leota (Richardson) Harmon. He married Beth Flood on September 30, 2006. He is survived by his wife; Son Zack Harmon; step children Breanna Robey & Johnny Robey; Brother Alan Harmon wife Debbie of Mahomet, IL; Step Mother Velma Harmon of Savoy, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and half-brothers Gary, Jerry and Marty Brown.

Scot has worked for Consolidated Communications in Mattoon for 25 years and was a Mainframe System Administrator. Scot earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University. Scot was a caring, devoted father and deeply loving husband. He never met a stranger and gave of himself so freely. Scot selflessly volunteered his time with many organizations. He was a YMCA member and youth basketball coach and was a long time member and chairperson at the Special Olympics Family Festival. He was an Iverson A. Lumpkin Pioneer Club Member and he attended The Family Worship Center in Mattoon, IL.
