Marjorie M. Green, 97, of Strasburg, IL, passed away at 6:08 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020 in Brookstone Suites, Effingham, IL.

Private family graveside services will be held on Tuesday morning, June 9 in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the staff of Brookstone Suites, Effingham, IL or Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL and mailed to: Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Marjorie was born on September 30, 1922 in Strasburg, IL, the daughter of Raymond Adam and Flossie Phoebe Ruff Engel. She graduated from Strasburg High School in the Class of 1940. Marjorie married Lowell T. Green on July 6, 1941. She was a part-time clerk for the Strasburg Post Office for many years. Marjorie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL and enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing cards and golfing at the Effingham Country Club. Marjorie will be remembered for her great smile, her laugh, for always helping others, and for her love of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Manhart (Michael) of Moweaqua, IL and Susan Pikesh (Derryl) of Strasburg, IL; nine grandchildren, Audra Thomas (Tony), Derryn Pikesh (Dawn), Nicole Myers (Jamie), Lori Mathis (Kevin), Holly Steiling (Corey), Kathryn Lees, Elizabeth Collins (Rob), Neil Pikesh and Zachary Manhart (Kelly); and 15 great grandchildren, Georgia and Wyatt Thomas, Garret Pikesh, Connor and Nathan Myers, Logan and Morgan Mathis, Cooper and Cole Steiling, Grace and Elijah Lees, Noah and Josie Collins and Hudson and Mallory Manhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell Green on June 22, 1996; and three sisters, Arlene Louise Engel, Audrey Gail Falk and Myra Joyce Ragan.
