Anna Mary Majors, 81, of Effingham passed away Monday, March 4th, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1pm at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.  Visitation will be from 5-8pm Wednesday.  Burial in Mound Cemetery, Cowden.  Memorials to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

She was born September 18, 1931 in Decatur, the daughter of Alice Vance Wiles and Luther J. Wiles.  She married Robert Vincent Majors on November 11, 1949 in Decatur.  She retired after many years of service from the State of Illinois Department of Mental Health.

Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Jo Ross of Warrensburg...sons, Michael Robert Majors of Beecher City and Curt Steven Majors of Windermere, Florida...sister, Janet Kay Amos of Dunnellon, Florida...grandchildren, Robert Anthony "Tony" Majors, Carrie Ann Burks, Matthew Brian Majors, Christie Lynn Gilbrich, and Scott Alan Ross of Peoria...and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband...parents...brother, Rodger Dean Wiles...best friend, Dorothy Mae Hopkins...and special children, Nancy Diann Majors and Ronald Lee Ross.
