Joye Marie Bushue, 67, of Effingham, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Joye to the Smyser Christian Church Youth Programs, 1521 Whitley Point Road, Gays, Illinois 61928 or donor’s choice.

Joye was born on September 15, 1952, in Effingham, Illinois to Emery Frederick and Ruth (Stoll) Huntington. She married John R. Bushue on March 6, 1971 in Edgewood, Illinois. The most important thing in life to Joye was her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren.

Joye is survived by her husband, John R. Bushue of Effingham; sons, Josh (wife, Jill) Bushue of Sullivan and Jacob Bushue of Effingham; grandchildren, Ben, Brett and Kate Bushue all of Sullivan; brothers, Charles (wife, Dolly) Huntington of Oak Lawn, James (wife, Christine) Huntington of Effingham, and George (wife, Ardel) Huntington of Effingham; sister, Judith Delong of Lacey, Washington; sisters-in-law, Linda Hardy of Springfield, Joann Byers of Salem, Darlene (husband, Jack) Poff of Effingham, Georgia Huntington of Effingham, and Jenna Huntington of Effingham; several nieces and nephews; and dearest friends, Mike and Toni Niebrugge and Jim and Paula Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frederick Huntington and Paul Huntington; and brothers-in-law, Earl Sigrist, LeRoy Hardy, and Carl Byers.
