Delbert D. Olinger age 97 of Willow Hill passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Newton Care Center.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery, Willow Hill, Illinois. Memorial gifts in memory of Delbert may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Memorials and cards of condolence may be mailed to the Olinger family at 13601 E. 1500th Avenue, Newton, Illinois 62448.

Delbert was born on December 4, 1922 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Daniel Abraham and Lydia Mae (Hamilton) Olinger. He served his country during WWII in the United State Army. Delbert married Anna K. Rentz on November 22, 1946. They shared sixty-one years together before her passing on April 5, 2008. Delbert was a cement truck driver for Jesse B. Holt and built grain bins for F.S. both in Newton. He was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church, Willow Hill. In his free time, Delbert enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and working in his workshop.

Delbert will be loved and remembered by his children Daniel (Carol) Olinger of Newton and Lydia (Bill) Parrent of Willow Hill; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

His parents, wife Anna, daughter Ruth Ann Hayes, grandson Randy Chapman, great grandson Joshua Read, brother Albert Andy Olinger and sister Diana Murphy preceded him in death.
