Marcella L. Niebrugge (93) of Dieterich

Marcella L. Niebrugge, 93, of Dieterich, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, IL. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich, IL. Marcella was born on March 25, 1927, in Island Grove, IL, the daughter of Leo and Helen (Verdeyen) Probst. She married Robert J. Niebrugge on September 28, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2015. Marcella was strong in her faith and was always praying her rosary. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bishop Creek. She was also a member of the Ladies Sodality and the American Legion Auxiliary. Marcella enjoyed sewing, quilting, and making afghans.

Marcella is survived by her children, Don (Paula) Niebrugge of Effingham, Arlene Fehrenbacher of Dieterich, Randy (Laura) Niebrugge of Wheeler, and Linda (Steve) Wente of Mattoon; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Regina Figueroa of Teutopolis; brother, Raymond “Bud” Probst of Effingham; and sister-in-law, Marge Probst of Teutopolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Anna Marie Lidy; brother, Louis Probst; grandchildren, Eric Fehrenbacher and Kendra Niebrugge; sister-in-law, Gert Probst; and brothers- in-law, Allie Lidy and Frank Figueroa.
