Marcella Eileen Stewart, 85, of Greenup, IL passed away at 11:08 pm on Thursday, February 28th, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday March 4th 2013 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery.

Marcella was born on February 25, 1928 in Casey, IL the daughter of Howard & Ethel (Elliott) Draper. She married Donald Stewart on December 8th 1946. Surviving is her husband of 66 years; Son Joseph Lee wife Cheryl Stewart of Burlington, IA; Daughter Susan Stewart of Milwaukee, WI; Sister Neda husband Wayne Cowger of Dunedin, FL; grandson Curtiss Johnson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister and brother in-law Helen & Fred Dooley.

She will be remembered fondly for her love of people and her genuine and generous disposition. She loved music, dancing, homemaking and visiting on the front porch. After raising her children and helping Don with his bulldozing business, she worked at many local Greenup businesses lastly as manager of Arndt’s Store.

She lived her full life in Greenup never venturing far away. She was crowned with her husband King & Queen of Greenup in 1989.

Despite failing health in the past 10 years she enjoyed people and family who blessed her and were blessed by her presence.
