C. Bernie "Poppy" Kirk (89) of Neoga

C. Bernie "Poppy" Kirk, 89, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 7:05 PM Friday, April 10, 2020 in the Heartland Senior Living Center in Neoga, Illinois.

Bernie was born September 26, 1930 in Penfield, Illinois, the son of Charles Joseph and Amy (Adams) Kirk. Mr. Kirk was a retired Service Manager and Mechanic for several car dealerships in central Illinois and was a Maintenance/Custodian Supervisor for the Neoga Park District. He married Christy Correll December 5, 1952 in Rankin, Illinois, Christy passed away February 2, 1998. Mr. Kirk was a member of the St. Mary Of The Assumption Church and a Honorary Life Member of the St. Mary’s Knights Of Columbus both in Neoga, Illinois.

He is survived by his children, Steve Kirk (Terri) of Westerville, Ohio and Tina Frailey (Duane) of Neoga, Illinois; half brother, John Epley (Judy) of Armstrong, Illinois; five grandchildren, Steven Kirk, Nikki Kirk, Danielle Kirk, Anna Frailey and Amy Frailey; four great grandchildren, Shane Molter, Hailey Hyland, Kailey Hyland and Kinsley Kirk; Special friends Denny Easton, Lena Peters and Paul Frailey all of Neoga, Illinois.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents; wife Christy Kirk; half brother Jim Epley and sister, Betty Johnson.

Due to the Coronavirus 19 Mandates Cremation Rites will be accorded and there will be no visitation or services at this time. A Celebration of Bernie’s Life will be held at a later date.
