Betty A. Knifley, 80, of Mattoon, Illinois and formerly of Toledo, Illinois passed away at 2:15 a.m. February 24, 2013 at Mattoon Healthcare and Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 27 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com

Betty was born August 25, 1932 in Greenup, the daughter of Leroy and Lillie (Simpson) Carver. Betty was a homemaker and retired from Ettelbrick Shoe Company in Greenup. She was member of the Plum Grove Church.

Surviving are her two children, Roderick (wife Barb) Knifley of Lerna and Darla (husband Doug) Lawson of Mattoon; grandchildren Amy (husband Matt) Brown, Kyle Stewart, Bryan Knifley and girlfriend Kristina Haycraft, and Becky Knifley; great-grandchildren Bryan Knifley Jr., Gaberial Knifley, Gavan Tipsword, Arianna Brown, Trisdyn Brown, Angel Knifley, Katelyn Knifley and John Ross Knifley Jr.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters and one grandson, John Knifley Sr.
