Betty L. Hutton, 82, of Trilla, Illinois passed away at 12:54 AM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in her residence.
She was born March 1, 1937 in Winfield, Kansas the daughter of Everett and Dessie (Sanders) McElhaney. She married Fred Gordon in 1956 and later married Virgil Hutton January 4, 1981 in Mattoon, Illinois. Virgil passed away July 12, 2017. Betty was a Billing Clerk in the business office of Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center of Mattoon, Illinois for 11 years and was a member of the Broadway Christian Church in Mattoon, Illinois. She loved gardening and babysitting.
Mrs. Hutton leaves her daughters Patricia Goldstein (Ed) of Trilla, Illinois and Margaret Kruse (Don) of Palos Heights, Illinois; son Tom Gordon (Eva) of Florissant, Missouri; son in law Gary Hills of Gays, Illinois; sisters Audrey Banfield of Ormand Beach, Florida and Mary Ann Irvin of Bethalto, Illinois; grandchildren Cindy Kershaw (Jeff), Curt Goldstein, Matthew Hills and Fiancé Megan Markum, Amy Hills, Tim Kruse, Rebekah and Kara Gordon; great grandchildren Logan, Olivia and Emma Kershaw and Kynnedi Goldstein.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Virgil Hutton; daughter Nancy Hills; two brothers and two sisters. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Heartland Senior Living Activities of Neoga, Illinois.
A Celebration of Betty's life will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 16 at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois with Pastor Todd Zastrow of Mattoon, Illinois officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will be at 2:00 PM at the Mackville Cemetery in Atwood, Illinois.
