Thomas Joseph Lange, 78, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 at Garden Terrace, Overland Park, Kansas.

Tom was born July 25, 1941 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Henry and Delphia (Brockett) Lange. Tom graduated from Effingham High School and Tri-State College with a degree in civil engineering. He first married Winetta Crabb and in 1992 married Michelle Brunner. Tom worked for the state highway department in Effingham before moving to Phoniex, Arizona where he eventually became the Deputy Director in development services in Phoenix. He retired to Prescott, Arizona where he then worked five more years for Yavapai County as a county engineer before retiring again. Tom loved music, hiking, traveling to national parks including his beloved Grand Canyon and was a Chicago Cubs fan.

Tom is survived by his wife Michelle; sons, Gary Lange of Chicago and Anthony (Christianne) Lange of Fullerton, California; stepdaughter, Melissa (Stefen) Bright of Shawnee, Kansas; brother, Jim (Linda) Lange of Effingham; sister, Millie Lange of Effingham and grandchildren, Abby and Maddy Lange and Lauren, Mackenzie, Payson and Waverly Bright.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Mervin Brunner.

He will be cremated and a family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
