Clarence W. Haney, 66, of Effingham, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 11 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Clarence was born on July 2, 1953, in Effingham, IL, the son of Benny and Wanda (Sapp) Haney. He married Kathy Grunloh on September 10, 1977 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham and she survives.

Clarence worked in construction at AKRA Builders for 32 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Church and a 3rd degree member of the Effingham Knights of Columbus Council #665. Clarence enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a member of ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Towards Education). He was a caring person who was always willing to help those in need. Clarence loved being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Kathy Haney of Effingham; son, Adam (Hillary) Haney of Effingham, daughter, Amanda (Jason) Griffith of Aviston; grandchildren, Eli, Easton, and Jax Griffith, and Haleigh Stephens; brother, Charles “Tom” Haney; sister, Vanessa Haney; mother-in-law, Dorothy Grunloh; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy (Scott) Koester, Joyce (Dan) Worman, Sherry (Doug) Babbs, Jan (Ray) Nuxoll, Ellen Brummer, and Greg (Gina) Grunloh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benny Haney; mother and step-father, Wanda and Fred Wilson; and father-in-law, Don Grunloh.
