Paul Vogt, 81, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of C.E.F.S. Paul was born on November 27, 1937, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Clem Sr. and Josephine (Feldhake) Vogt. He was in the National Guard from June 1960 to June 1966. Paul married Marcella Lawrence on May 6, 1961 in St. Michael Catholic Church in Sigel and to this union six children were born. He was a member of St. Anthony Church all of his life. He was a retired dairy farmer and had lived on the same farm all of his life. Paul was a Farm Bureau member for many years.

Paul is survived by his wife, Marcella of Effingham; six children, Norma (Randy) Glenn of Shelbyville, Vernon (Angie) Vogt of Watson, Dean (Ann) Vogt of Watson, Melvin Vogt of Watson, Judy Vogt of Pana, and Jody Vogt of Pana; grandchildren, Jacob Glenn, Michael Glenn, Lexie Vogt, Dustin Vogt, Callie Vogt, and Elizabeth Vogt; one great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Vogt; sister, Stella Westendorf of Effingham; brothers, Bernard Vogt and Clem Vogt Jr. both of Effingham; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Sr. Mary Ann Vogt, Catherine Westendorf, and Anna Ruholl; and brother, Clarence “Bud” Vogt.
