Donald “Dyno” Myron Maulding, 74, of Casey, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Charleston Rehab and Health Care Center in Charleston, IL.

Don was born on August 20, 1945 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Donald Wayne Maulding and Dorothy Ruth Estes Maulding.

Don is survived by his sons, Ronald Jay Maulding (Linda) of Casey, IL, Donald Jason Maulding (Jennifer) of Naperville, IL and son-in-law Jim Dvorak of Oakbrook Terrace, IL; eight grandchildren, Kelly (Case) Gasparovich, Samantha (Kevin) Dvorak-Ohls, Carly Dvorak, Emma, Claire and Jackson Maulding and Olivia and Donald Kole Maulding; three great-grandchildren Keller and Marta Delores Gasparovich and Fisher Dvorak; his sister-sister-in-sister-in-law Kathy Maulding of Casey, brother Dick (Janet) Maulding of Casey, IL and sister Denise Wilhoit (Mike Bickers) of Charleston, IL; his ex-wife and life-long friend Shelia Maulding of Casey, IL along with several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Wayne and Dorothy, his brother Danny in 2006 and his daughter Delores “Lori” Dvorak in 2017.

Don served his country as a member of the United States Army after graduating from Casey High School in 1963. He wore many different hats during his post-army years, including driving a truck (both over-the-road and local construction jobs), and serving as a land agent, negotiating damage payments for pipeline rights-of-way for Marathon Oil Company.  

Don was initiated as a founding member of the chapter of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Eastern Illinois University in 1994, and was a long-time member of the Casey Masonic Lodge. He was also an avid car racing fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Don was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God. He enjoyed his regular “poker nights” with his friends, and never cooked a meal that was not delicious. Don will be greatly missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 9 at the Casey White Oak Church of God, located 3305 E. 1000th Rd. in Casey.
