Michael L. Herboth (59) formerly of Effingham

Michael L. Herboth, age 59, of Ellington, Missouri passed away at 12:15am Tuesday, October 29th at his home.

He was born on April 8, 1960 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Louis and Dorothy (Rieman) Herboth of Effingham.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 3rd from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. A second visitation will be held Monday, November 4th from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday, November 5th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington, Missouri. Pastor Marvin Richards will be officiating the funeral services on Tuesday, November 5th at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Ellington Memorial Cemetery. Mike worked most of his life as a mechanic. He also enjoyed demolition derbies. He won his first demolition derby in 1983 and he continued participating in the derbies until 2011. Mike also enjoyed playing cards, washers and marbles.He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and barbequing with his family. Mike enjoyed visiting with people and he loved the time that he got to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his wife, Rose (McNail) Herboth of Ellington, MO; his 8 children: Nicole (Levi) Slater of Effingham, Jason (Holly) Herboth of Montrose, Travis (Jamie) Herboth of Effingham, Emily (Dustin Mayhew) Foster of Ellington, MO, Joseph Herboth of Cape Girardeau, MO, James (Elizabeth) Herboth of Bunker, MO, Denver (Gina) Donald of Ellington, MO and Clayton Donald of Sacramento, CA; Fifteen grandchildren: Julia, Reagan, Sadie, Easton, Logan, Griffen, Joshua, Carlita, Blake, Aubrie, Alyssa, Stephanie, Emma, Dresden and Eve. Surviving brothers: Donald (Jo) Herboth Altamont, Carl (Inge) Herboth of Altamont, Francis (Marsha) Herboth of Watson; surviving sisters; Joan Eggers of Effingham, Louise (Tom) Nuxoll of Effingham, Jeanette (Allen) Barr of Effingham, Pauletta (Randy) Strunk of Effingham, Kathryn (Mike) McGuire of Edgewood, Rebecca (Jake) Adams Effingham, Dorothy (Paul) Hawker of Hazel Dell, Martha (Gary) Breer of Teutopolis, and Melinda Sayne of Bloomington; mothe r and father-in-law Robert and Erma McNail of Ellington, MO; brothers-in-law, Johney (Dolores) Morris of Bradley, IL and Robert (Jamie) McNail of Herculaneum, MO; and Godchild, Jodi Nuxoll of Effingham.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brothers David and Joseph; sister Dolores Morris and brother-in-law Kenny Eggers.
