Alma L. Hamrick, 86, of Effingham, IL, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24 at Arborcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum in Effingham. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. Alma was born on March 2, 1933, in Altamont, IL, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Schroeder) Campe. She was united in marriage to Chester E. Hamrick in 1956, and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1995.
Alma was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She loved animals, especially cats. Alma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham.
Alma is survived by her son, Chester Hamrick Jr.; daughters, Karen (Bobby) Lee and Ruth Wiseman; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester; brothers, Otto Campe and an infant brother; daughter, Linda Wilcoxon; son-in-law, Delmar Wiseman; daughter-in-law, Dawn Hamrick; and sister, Ella Bischoff.
