Louise McKay, 93, of Beecher City, IL passed away peacefully at 1:39 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shumway, IL with Father Mark Tracy officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Shumway, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m on Sunday at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City, IL with scripture service at 4 p.m. Memorials may be made in Louise’s name to the donor’s choice.

Louise was born October 30, 1925, in Effingham, the daughter of Andrew and Catherine (Hoffman) Koester. Louise and Charles “Max” McKay were united in holy matrimony on April 26, 1947 and were blessed with 53 years of marriage before his passing on July 6, 2000. Louise was a homemaker who worked along-side her husband running the family business, McKay Farms in the Beecher City area. She was a member of the Effingham VFW Post 1769 Ladies Auxiliary and the Beecher City Kitchen Band.

Surviving are her son, Dan (Rita) McKay of Beecher City, IL; four grandsons: Jason (Jenni) McKay, Darin McKay, Blake McKay all of Beecher City, IL and Tyler (Cristina) McKay of Springfield, IL; four great-grandchildren: Benson, Sadie, Joseph and Eli.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Catherine Koester; husband, Max McKay; son, Randy McKay; sisters: Mary Catherine Richards and Genevieve Willenborg and brother, Ambrose Koester.
