Pauline C. Hoene, 94, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at her home in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 13 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Mary Help of Christian Catholic Cemetery, Green Creek. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be given to St. Anthony Schools.

Pauline was born November 11, 1924 in Green Creek, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Swingler) Niebrugge. She married Henry L. Hoene on August 14, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1989. Pauline was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Church, Green Creek and the ladies Alter Sodality until moving to Effingham in 1977. She has been a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham until her passing. 

Pauline was known for the many hand sewn quilts, with one always in the frame and seven on the bed waiting to be quilted. She quilted daily up until a month ago.

Pauline is survived by her children, Dolores (Charles) Kroeger, Henry Paul (Lois) Hoene and Bernice Dasenbrock; sons-in-law, Chuck Hartke (fiance, Brenda Holmes) and Daniel Dasenbrock (fiance, Deb Kinkelaar); 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Kathryn Hartke; brothers, Andrew (Clara) Niebrugge and Adolph (Genevieve) Niebrugge; sisters, Matilda (John) Rieman, Mildred (Ralph) Lee and Mary Frances Niebrugge; brother-in-law, Herman (Clara) Hoene; sisters-in-law, Betty (John) Habing, Cecelia (Allie) Nieman, Christine (Albert) Habing, Bertha (Stan) Kopczynski and Sister Mary Henriette SSND.
