Brenda "Kay" Smith of Mattoon

Cremation Rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday August 25 at the Mattoon V.F.W. Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga is assisting with arrangements. Brenda was born April 26, 1943, in Mattoon, the daughter of Kenneth and Rose (McGinness) Roetker and was raised by Delbert and Rose Hamilton. She was a retired cook at Casey’s General Store in Neoga and was a life member of the Mattoon V.F.W. Auxiliary of Mattoon.
Kay leaves two daughters, Cheryl Shutt (Kelly) of rural Neoga and Michele Pygott of Mattoon; brothers, Bill Hamilton and Delbert Hamilton, both of Mattoon; sister, Linda Keepes of Mattoon: seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Kay was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Roetker, parents, Delbert and Rose Hamilton and sons, Edward Lee Smith and Chadlee Cole Smith.
