Marilyn Wittenberg, 90, of Stewardson, IL passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, IL with Reverend Steven Becker officiating. Burial will take place in Stewardson Cemetery in Stewardson, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made in Marilyn’s name to the Trinity Lutheran School, 318 E. South 1st Street, Stewardson, IL, 62463 or Donor’s Choice. Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson, IL is assisting the family.

Marilyn was born May 4, 1929, in Trowbridge, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Grace (Spain) Boldt. She was a 1947 graduate of Stewardson High School. Marilyn and Melvin Wittenberg were united in marriage on April 19, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL and celebrated 44 years of marriage before his passing on February 22, 2000.

Marilyn was a homemaker who cherished time spent with family and friends. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, IL, as well as a member of the Trinity Ladies Aid.

Surviving are her children: Darrell (Debbie) Wittenberg of Troy, IL, Vickie Budde of Stewardson, IL and Carla (Gerard) Bierman of Effingham, IL; four grandchildren: Tim Wittenberg, Jennifer Wittenberg, Ethan Budde and Cathleen Bierman; sister-in-law, Ruth Boldt of Decatur, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Grace Boldt; husband, Melvin Wittenberg; son-in-law, Mark Budde and brother, Dwight Boldt.
