Floyd E. Miller, 66 of Altamont died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, with Rev. David Speers officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul ‘Blue Point’ Cemetery, rural Altamont. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Gieseking Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America or Lincolnland Hospice.

Floyd was born on Saturday, August 16, 1952 in Vandalia to Harold C. and Cora A. (Dammerman) Miller. He married Ruth Ann Chamberlain on April 27, 1988. Floyd retired after 25 years with World Color Press/Quebecor World and had worked at The Equity, Effingham. He and his brother Ron farmed the family farm for many years. Floyd loved to go to auctions and flea markets and enjoyed his membership with the National Trail Toy Club.

He is survived by his wife of over 31 years, Ruth Ann Miller of Altamont, son, Matthew Miller of Altamont; daughter, Kelsey Knight and her husband Brandon of Altamont; brother, Ronald Miller of Effingham; sisters, Glenda Poehler of Louisville and Myrna Hites and her husband Daniel of Edgewood; brothers-in-law, Duane Poehler of Dieterich and Herbert Tabbert of Effingham; 2 granddaughters, Jillian and Ashlyn Knight.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Janice Poehler and Betty Tabbert.
