Marlene G. Vonderheide, 83, of Freeburg, Illinois died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her residence.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 21 from 4-8 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Freeburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Reyling officiating. Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville. Renner Funeral Homes, Belleville is in charge. Memorials maybe made to Family Hospice. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.rennerfh.com.

Vonderheide was born July 30, 1935 in Effingham to Ferd and Rose (Schwermine) Hardiek. She married Eugene A. "Bud" Vonderheide November 21, 1959. She worked in civil service at Scott Air Force, Belleville before her retirement. She was a Cub Scout den mother, a member of the Junior Women's Club and an avid competitive bridge player.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Eugene A. "Bud" Vonderheide; three sons, Christopher Vonderheide, M.D. of the Bahamas, Blake (Katerina) Vonderheide M.D. of Oakland, CA and Todd (Kim) Vonderheide M.D. of Freeburg; five grandsons, Devin, Brock, Nicholas, Dimitri and Stefano Vonderheide; brothers, Don, Bernie and Vic (Mary Ann) Hardiek; sisters, Mary Lou Pfaff, Rosalie (Don) Wente, Elaine (Art) Haywood and Barbara Jean (Bill) Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferd and Rose and a son, Kent E. Vonderheide.
