Retha Rexroad (66) of Vienna, formerly of Effingham

Retha Rexroad, age 66 years, a resident of Vienna and a native of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Thursday evening, April 18, 2019, at 10:10 PM at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Retha was born December 8, 1952 in Effingham, Illinois. She was the daughter of Jerald Williams and Amy (Beals) Williams.

Retha is survived by: a daughter – Amy (Kendall) Glass of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren – Wyatte Weaver of Metropolis, Dalton Glass and Dillon Glass both of Colorado, and Ashley Glass and Amanda Glass both of Kansas; great grandchildren; 2 brothers – Jason (Barb) Williams of Altamont and Troy Williams of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 3 sisters – Linda (Floyd) Walker of Centralia, Ruth Moore of Altamont, and Pam (Joe) Hartoebben of Mayetta, Kansas; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Retha was preceded in death by: a sister – Peggy Alves and a brother – Jerald P. Williams, Jr.

Retha was a 1971 graduate of Effingham High School. She had provided in-home health care and housekeeping services throughout her working career.Retha was a member of Jackson Township “Little Prairie” Baptist Church near Effingham.

The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, May 11 at 11 AM at the Jackson Township Baptist Church, 8458 East 875th Ave., Altamont, Illinois 62411. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family with expenses and may be left in care of Bailey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 695, Vienna, IL 62995.
