Lottie M. Daugherty Fowler, 98, of Effingham and formerly of Louisville, passed away at 11:47 am on Sunday, March 31, 2019 in Effingham.

She was born on February 26, 1921 in Iola, the daughter of the late Aley and Mattie (Eckel) Winchester. Lottie married Wyatt “Spat” Daugherty on July 7, 1940 in Wickliffe, KY and he preceded her in death on August 12, 1967. She later married Edwin Dale Fowler on April 1, 1972 and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1983.

Lottie was of the Pentecostal faith and loved attending church on Sundays. She enjoyed fishing, quilting and was a terrific cook. She was known for her loving hugs; known as “Grandma Lottie’s Hugs”. Most of all she loved her family; spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons; John Daugherty of Effingham and Wyatt (Becky) Daugherty of Greenup, two daughters; Judy (Bob) Mann of Flora and Betty (Steve) Tolliver of Louisville, fifteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren and by several nieces, nephews and good friends.

In addition to her parents, her husband Wyatt and her husband Edwin, she was preceded in death by a son; Frank Daugherty, a daughter; Diana DeVore, three sisters; Fern Barbee, Dorothy Daugherty and Evelyn Newby and by three brothers, Elza, Lawrence and Everett Winchester.

Funeral services honoring the life of Lottie will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 3 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Bro. James Baird will officiate. Interment will follow at Red Brush Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services on Wednesday.
