Norma Agnes Buhler (83) of Effingham

Norma Agnes Buhler, age 83, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away at 8:28 AM – Thursday, March 28, 2019, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, April 2 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis, Illinois, with Fr. Joe Carlos celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery south of Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday at the Meyer Funeral Home 307 East Center Street (Illinois Route 33 East) Dieterich, Illinois. Norma was born on January 16, 1936, in Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Augustine and Agnes (Habing) McClory. She married Frederick H. Buhler on June 22, 1957, and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2008. Norma was a babysitter for many years and had worked at Hardee’s and Wendy’s in Effingham. Norma was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis, Illinois. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, puzzles and visiting with family and friends.

Norma is survived by: Children – Betty (Eugene) Bunting, Fred (Joyce) Buhler and John (Libby) Buhler all of Effingham, Illinois; Grandchildren – Tara Thompson, Niki Story, Laurie Taylor, Zachary Buhler, Randy Bunting, Debra Bunting, Kristina Whisenant, Brittney Buhler and Justin McKay; 13 Great Grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister Esther Pruemer.
