Ralph Van Dyke, 88, of Mason died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 27 at 2 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home, Louisville. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Neal Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Effingham. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Clay County Cancer Support Group or donor's choice. Ralph was born January 13, 1925 in Clay Coutny, the son of Clarence and Bertha (Cameron) VanDyke. He married Maxine Adams February 18, 1946 in Effingham. He was an IDOT employee for 24 years and a farmer.
Survivors include son, Jerry (wife Elizabeth) VanDyke of Decatur; daughter, Jene' (husband John) Brentlinger of Flora; grandchildren, J.R. (wife Nikki) Brentlinger of Freeburg, Jamie (husband Billy) Lewis of Burnt Prairie and great-grandchildren, Jane and Gentry Brentlinger and Will and Halle Lewis. Special acknowledgement goes to caregivers, Ruby Sapp and Jeanne Schoenhoff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife in 1999 and brother, Robert Thomas VanDyke
