Mitchell would not want to be remembered for his brave battle against cancer. He would want to be remembered for being the kind, goofy, thoughtful kid that he was. He enjoyed every minute of life with his friends and family. Drama and Theatre Productions made him the happiest. Time with friends playing Dungeons and Dragons followed closely behind. He also loved a good family or church get-together and all of the craziness that came with it.

Mitchell’s most important success was inviting Jesus into his heart at a young age. He enjoyed all aspects of church. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Effingham. He loved being part of the youth group and working in the nursery.

Mitchell was born on September 19, 2001 to his loving parents Jim and Darlene (Cowger) Coffin. He was a great brother to Jonathan, Sarah, and Rachel. He was also blessed to have supportive grandparents: Gordon and Vickey Cowger of Teutopolis, Jim and Marcia Coffin of Effingham, and Dona Bissey of Clay City. He was also lucky to have great-grandparents Rondle and Mabel Cowger to spend time with. He was also loved by many uncles and aunts: Tom and Jacque Holsapple, Jacob Cowger, Ed and Shelly Coffin, John and Lisa Coffin, Bud and Tracy Hall, and Sandra Coffin.

All of this love does not even include the cousins or extended great aunts and uncles that he spent time with.

Those that loved him that went ahead to prepare a place in heaven include: Grandma and Grandpa Marilyn and Jake Bissey, Grandma and Grandpa Alpha and Don Wohltman, Grandma and Grandpa Betty and Bob Whitmer, Grandma and Grandpa Alexandra and Charles Coffin, Uncle Stephen Cowger, Aunt Kim Wohltman, Uncle David Bissey, and Cousin Ryan Wohltman.
