Mary West Faircloth, 90, of Effingham died Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Willowbrook of Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday with a 6:30 pm. CD of A rosary at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Mary was born on May 8, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Sullivan) Kehoe. She was united in marriage to Jack V. West Sr. on February 9, 1948, and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1999. She later married Dean R. “Bob” Faircloth on August 28, 2001 in Wildwood, FL, and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2016.

Mary was an LPN in the 1960s in the OB Department at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. She was self-employed from 1970 to 1980s when she opened Mary’s Day Care Center. Mary also was an LPN at Lakeland Nursing Home in the Alzheimer’s Unit. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the church choir and was also a Past Grand Regent of the CD of A. 

Mary is survived by her children, Mary Jo (Kelly) Tucker of Effingham, Jack (Jeanne) West Jr. of Brookfield, WI, Patrick (Patty) West of Vandalia, Robert (Shelia) West of Effingham, Tom (Cheryl) West of Charleston, Cathy O’Leary of Jacksonville, FL, David (Teresa) West of Cape Coral, FL, Dorothy (Walt) Webner of Punta Gorda, FL, Barbara (Don) Baker of O’Fallon, MO, and Nancy (Cary) Cain of Troy, MO; 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jack West; daughter, Bernadette; second husband, Dean Faircloth; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
