Gordon G. Durbin (78) of the Altamont and Beecher City Area

Gordon G. Durbin, 78, of the Altamont and Beecher City area, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham, IL.  

Gordon was born November 1, 1939, in Bowling Township, the son of Richard (Dick) and Ora (Lorton) Durbin.  He was a United States Navy veteran who was very proud to have served his Country.  

Survivors include son, Carl Durbin of Beecher City; daughter, Terry Keller of Effingham; sister, Leona (George) Mikhail of Phoenix, AZ; nieces, nephews, cousins and his extended family at the Evergreen Nursing Center.  

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Joe Allen Durbin; granddaughter, Nicole Keller; brothers:  Kenneth, Roland and Halden; sisters:  Rosaline (Rosie) Duckett, Violet (Vi) Letford and Eileen (Faye) Hessie.  

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City with Brian Letford officiating.  Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery in rural Cowden.  Visitation will be on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City.  A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society.
