Donald I. Boggs (70) of Effingham

Donald Ivan Boggs, 70, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2 at the First Church of God in Effingham. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Donald was born on September 4, 1947, in Effingham, IL, the son of Ivan and Juanita (Williams) Boggs. He was united in marriage to Wanda Hiatt on July 6, 1989 in Gatlinburg, TN. Don worked at Fedders and JC Penney. He formed Don Boggs Construction in 1992. Don was a nature enthusiast and had a love for all animals. He enjoyed his morning coffee with a walk, while accompanied by his wife and their beloved dog Gracie. Don had a soft spot for helping those in need and could always be found whistling while he worked.

Don is survived by his wife, Wanda Boggs of Effingham; mother, Juanita Boggs of Effingham; daughters, Kim (Ken) Huss of Effingham, Michelle (Rob) Mihlbachler of Effingham, and Tracy Kitchens of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Ardyn and Ethan Huss; and sisters, Wanda (Bob) Reardon of Effingham and Linda (Mick) Poe of Altamont.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan.
