Adeline E. Probst, 95, of Bishop, IL, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 27 at St Aloysius Catholic Church, Bishop Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with a 3:45 p.m. CCW rosary and a 7:00 p.m. parish prayer service. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Adeline was born on October 22, 1922, in Lillyville, IL, the daughter of John and Anna (Lake) Deters. She was united in marriage to Ewald J. Probst on August 28, 1943 at Sacred Heart Church, Lillyville, and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2009. Adeline was a homemaker and an avid quilter. She loved gardening and working outdoors. She enjoyed playing cards and visits from her family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids. Adeline was a member of St. Isidore The Farmer Parish, and Council of Catholic Women.

Adeline is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Clarence, deceased) Helmink of Lillyville and Janet (Pat) Jansen of Island Grove; sons, Larry (Jane) Probst of Bishop and Roy (Doris) Probst of Bishop; daughter-in-law, Darlene (Dan, deceased) Probst of Bishop; 19 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Deters and Theresa Probst; and Pauletta Wente.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dan Probst; son-in-law, Clarence Helmink; grandson, Levi Jansen; brothers, Ralph Deters, Albert Deters, Herbert Deters, and Jack Deters; and sisters, Mary Koester, Hilma Willenborg, Stella Probst, and Sr. Jacqueline Deters.
