Wanda Lee Crews age 88 of Effingham formerly of Jasper County passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Lakeland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services for Wanda will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14 at the Crain Funeral Home with Pastor Jessica Baldyga officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Trexler Cemetery, rural Newton.

Wanda was born on October 23, 1929 in Bogota, Illinois the daughter of Henry I. Brown and Madge Easter (Songer) Brown McKinney. On June 18, 1949, Wanda married Jack W. Crews at the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1992. Wanda spent her life as a homemaker and caring for her family. Wanda was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Effingham and Chapter FA of the PEO Sisterhood, Effingham. She enjoyed attending the weekly dances, quilting, and traveling. Wanda enjoyed meeting with her coffee group and reading her Bible. Hosting parties and entertaining friends and family brought Wanda much joy as did time spent with family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Wanda will be loved and remembered by her children Dave Crews of Mattoon, Don Crews of Winfield, IL, Carol Crews of Brookfield, IL and Bob Crews of Elmhurst, IL; grandchildren Kyle Crews of Downers Grove, IL, Adam Crews of Lake in the Hills, IL, Nathan Crews of Geneva, IL, and Courtney Crews of Mattoon; great grandchildren Shelby and Mallory Grissom, Colin, Carter, Wesley, Ethan, and Gwen Crews; siblings Nancy Jo Arndt, husband Larry of San Diego, CA, Thomas H. Brown, wife Faye of Newton, Steve McKinney of Mississippi, Betty Jean Menke, husband Tom of Tullahoma, TN, and Donna K. Coad of Newton.

Her parents, husband Jack, and daughter-in-law Terry Crews preceded her in death.
