Virginia Jones (89) of Farina

Virginia Jones, 89 of Farina, entered eternal rest at 12:22 PM Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.

Funeral services are 10:30 AM Sat., Jan. 5, 2012 at the Farina United Methodist Church, Farina, Rev. Howard S. Bell officiating, with burial to follow in the Farina Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 PM Fri. at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood and 1 hour prior to service time at the church Saturday. Memorials are requested to Farina United Methodist Church or donor’s choice.

Virginia was born on Sept. 19, 1923 in Terre Haute, IN the daughter of Alfred P. and Olive (Jones) Tucker. She married Chatman Forrest Roberts on Sept. 17, 1941 in Edgewood by Alfred Leslie Tucker and he preceded her on March 2, 1965. She then married Harry Jones on Dec. 30, 1969 in Ashmore and he preceded her in 1988.

She was a farmer, housewife, and fruit grower. Virginia was also a member of the Farina United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Surviving are her siblings; Doris (John) Matheny of Farina, Joan M. (Melvin) Johnson of Effingham, and Lindell (Linda) Roberts of Farina, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Virginia was also preceded in death by her parents and brother; Alfred Leslie Tucker.
