Miles S. McConkey, 67, of Brownstown, died at 1:44 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 suddenly at his home.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Liberty Christian Church, rural Brownstown with Tom Fedrigon and Jim Dann officiating. Burial will follow at Sidener Cemetery, rural St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Miles was born on Thursday, August 24, 1950 in St. Elmo to Paul Leon and Lola Rene (Beck) McConkey. He married Brenda K. Wright on April 4, 1971 in St. Elmo. He was the Wheatland Township Road Commissioner. He attended Liberty Christian Church, rural Brownstown and was a member of the St. Peter Sportsman’s Club.

Miles is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Brenda, of Brownstown; sons, Matthew M. (Kathy) McConkey, Brownstown, Joseph M. McConkey, Brownstown, and Shae A. McConkey (fiance, Kelsey Vincent), Beecher City; brothers, Paul (Doris) McConkey, Brownstown and Alan McConkey, Brownstown; sister, Janet (Lowell) Hunsaker, St. Elmo; brother-in-law, Terry Jones, St. Elmo; and 5 grandchildren, Honora, Isla, Iona, Harlan, and Coy McConkey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Linda (Don) Koehler and Diana Jones; and brother, Jay McConkey.
