Herman F. Runde, 90, of Teutopolis died at 8:48pm Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Tuesday at the church with a 3:30pm parish wake service.  Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis is assisting the family with arrangements.

Herman was born on September 13, 1922 in Teutopolis, the son of Herman J. and Mary B. (Siemer) Runde. He married Luella B. Worman on September 8, 1949 and she survives.

Herman was a 1940 graduate of Teutopolis High School and later graduated from St. Louis University. He was former president and chairman of the board at Teutopolis State Bank from 1956 to 1988. Herman was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis; St. Francis Men’s Sodality and had previously served as a past board member of Catholic Charities. Herman was a member of the Teutopolis American Legion #924, as well as the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2874. He was also a charter member of W.W.T.A.C.

Herman is survived by his wife, Luella of Teutopolis; three sons, Richard A. (Deb) of Teutopolis, Dr. Charles W. (Vera) of Teutopolis and Larry (Sue) of Glencoe, MO; one daughter, Barb Runde of Teutopolis; three brothers, Paul, William (Ellen) and Gene, all of Teutopolis; one sister, Mary Angela Runde of Teutopolis; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Kenneth and brother, Dr. Joseph Runde.

Due to the passing of Herman Runde, both Teutopolis State Bank and Sigel Community Bank will be closed Wednesday, January 2 from 10am to 12:30pm.  Normal bank operations will resume at 12:30pm.
