Donald Lee Hubner (77) of rural Tower Hill

Donald Lee Hubner, 77, of rural Tower Hill, IL, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 in HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelby Christian Church, Shelbyville, IL.

Don was born on April 21, 1941 in Rural Township of Shelby County, IL, the son of Fred L. and Cecelia Dorothy “Babe” (McGuar) Hubner. He graduated from Assumption High School in the Class of 1959. Don farmed with his wife Judy until his retirement and also worked for Okaw Crop Care in Shelbyville, IL. He was a member of Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville, IL.. He married Judith E. “Judy” Steineman on June 4, 1967. She died on November 22, 2016.

Don is survived by his daughter, Sharon S. Roth (Tom) of Urbana, IL; sons, Dennis L. Hubner (Shawna) of Tower Hill, IL and Eric Hubner (Kara) of Assumption, IL; brothers, Roy Hubner (Sally) of Decatur, IL and Frank Hubner of Mattoon, IL; sister, Dorothy Fleshner (George) of Shelbyville, IL; eleven grandchildren, Casey Spitz (Kevin), Ariel Kapper, Derek Roth, Caitlin Kauffman (Seth), Lauren Kapper, Emily Roth, Colton Hubner, Tyler Kapper, Kaylee Hubner, Zach Hubner, and Wade Hubner; and three great grandchildren, Andrew Spitz, Jason Spitz, and Isaiah Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Judy.
