Phillip Phillips, 61, of St. Peter died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 11am Friday, December 28 at Kinmundy Christian Church.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm Thursday at the church.  Burial in Sandy Branch Cemetery, rural Kinmundy.  Memorials to Kinmundy Christian Church or Sandy Branch Cemetery.  Condolences at www.jwnealfuneralhome.net. 

He was born July 12, 1951 in Salem, the son of Ray and Lola Belle (Shelton) Phillips.  He married Shelly Garrett in St. Peter on September 10, 1977.  He was a sales representative for Sloan Implement in Vandalia, was a member and elder of Kinmundy Christian Church, enjoyed playing mandolin and spending time with his grandkids.  His zest for life was reflected in his love for friends and family.  He will be remembered for his strong faith, enduring optimism and warm outgoing nature.

Survivors include his wife Shelly Phillips of St. Peter...sons Dustin Phillips and partner Chuck Slaughter of Louisville, Kentucky and Kip Phillips and wife Stella of San Jose, California...daughters Katie Smith of St. Peter and Andi Phillips and partner Lily Worby of Urbana...brothers Don Phillips and wife Ruth Ann of West Terre Haute, Indiana and Garry Phillips and wife Kathy of Mt. Vernon...sisters Donna Stevens and husband John of Martinsville, Judy Milner and husband Bill of Salem, Linda Misselbrook and husband Gary of Kinmundy and Kathy Perkins and husband Ken of Waterloo...three grandchildren Josie Smith, Jacob Smith and Sylvia Phillips...and by Josie and Jacob Smith's father Shane Smith.
