Anna Mae Ellen Rush, age 88, of Dieterich, Illinois passed away at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 27 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Judy Poe will be officiating. Burial will be at Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may go to the donor’s choice.

Anna Mae was born on February 19, 1930 in Effingham County, Illinois, the daughter of Elwood and Lula (Glover) Poe. She married James M. Rush on May 15, 1948 in Effingham, Illinois. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, humming birds and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, James S. Rush (wife Pamela Sue) of Ingraham, Illinois; daughter, Twila Bannick (husband Rick) of Dieterich, Illinois; three brothers, Cecil Poe Jr. (wife Betty) of Effingham, Illinois, Harold “Bud” Poe of Darien Center, New York, Ronald Poe (wife Thelma) of Templeton, California; sister, Esta Leturno of Homassa, Florida; six grandchildren, Jeff Weaver (wife Shannae), Chris Rush (wife Ashley), Amber Rush, Justin Bannick (wife Tonya), Brittany Bannick (companion Jon Yoder), Jordan Wyatt; 12 great-grandchildren, Samantha Weaver, Jeffrey Weaver, Oliver Weaver, Lennox Weaver, Macey Rush, Dravin Zuber, Avery Dunning, Skianna Bannick, Samara Bannick, Hadley Bannick, Jayson Yoder and Cassi Yoder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Lula Poe; husband, James M. Rush; three brothers, Elvin Poe, Ira Poe, and in infancy, Bernard Poe; sister, Vera Plummer.
