Harriet C. "Sis" Borries, 86, of Teutopolis died at 4:13 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Effingham County Right to Life or to the donor's choice. She was born August 23, 1925 in rural Teutopolis, the daughter of Harry and Clara (Schneck) Pruemer. She married Joseph E. Borries June 17, 1947 and he survives. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include three sons, Gerald (wife Mary) Thomas and Leonard Borries, all of Teutopolis; one granddaughter, Lisa Hutson of Effingham; four brothers, Herb Pruemer of Teutopolis, Jerome (wife Louise) Pruemer of Shelbyville, Gerald (wife Carol) Pruemerl of Teutopolis and David Pruemer of Teutopolis; aunt, Gertrude Pruemer of Teutopolis; sisters-in-law, Mary Pruemer of Effingham, Josephine Borries of Teutopolis, and Mary Ann Borries of Effingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence "Bud", Edward, and Henry "Butch" Pruemer and infant sister, Dorothy.
