Wilma E. Stremming, 86, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in her residence, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Shelbyville, American Cancer Society or the Shelbyville Senior Center.

Wilma was born on July 14, 1931 in Macon County, Illinois, the daughter of Otis and Gladys (Epps) Hodges. At a young age, Wilma lost her mother. Her father then married Faye Snyder and she became Wilma’s mother. Wilma graduated from Westervelt High School the Class of 1948. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Rose Unit HCE and Shelby County Farm Bureau Prime Timers. She enjoyed music shows and going on bus trips. Wilma married Kenneth D. Stremming on June 19, 1955 and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1997.

She is survived by her sons, Gary and Roger Stremming, both of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Karen Pruemer (Brian) of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Kasey Klein (Joe) of Champaign, IL and Kaleb Pruemer of Shelbyville, IL; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Elizabeth Klein of Champaign, IL; sister, Ermajean Eversole of Shelbyville, IL; and brother, Larry Hodges of Conway, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Faye (Snyder) Hodges; husband, Kenneth; brother, Dale Hodges and wife Ellen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eugene Eversole, Karen Hodges and Keith Stremming and Mary Biehler and husband LeRoy.
