Lois I. Strader, 87, of Greenup died at 5:52pm Sunday, December 16, 2012 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL with Dan Smith and Terry Ervin officiating. Burial will be in the Hayes Cemetery in rural Hidalgo, IL. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service. Lois was born on March 3, 1925 in Jasper County, IL the daughter of Earl Ernest and Scilva (Slane) Sowers. She married Lowell L. Strader in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Lois worked at Ettlebrick Shoe Factory for many years and retired from Essex in Newton. She was also a farmer’s wife and loving mother and grandmother. Lois was a Christian and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Lois is survived by: 6 Children, Nancy Ann (Don) Barr of Effingham, IL, Mary Lynn Strader of Newton, IL, Delbert Ray Strader of Yale, IL, Dorris Jean (Gus McCoy) Strader of Olney, IL, Susan (Bob) Reynolds of Yale, IL and George Lee Strader of Orange County, CA...9 Grandchildren...and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Owen Sowers and a sister Clara Winkleblack.
